Hi, I’m Steve Smith and i'm the face behind Stellar Drive, and I’m passionate about helping people become safe, confident and independent drivers.

I began my jouney as a practising driving instructor (PDI) in 2022 , franchising under the name of My Four Wheels and became a fully qualified, approved driving instructor (ADI) in 2024. Since then, I have had the pleasure and satisfaction to have been able to teach many young (and older students) from many different nationalities, to develop in both knowledge, skill and confidence and successfully go on to pass there driving tests.

As of November 2026, I was incredibly proud to have taken the next step in my driving instructor career by breaking away from franchising and launching my own independent driving school, Stellar Drive.

This is more than just a new business name for me. It’s an opportunity to build something of my own, put my personal stamp on the way I teach, and provide learners with a friendly, supportive and professional experience.

I’m excited about what the future holds for Stellar Drive and look forward to helping many more learners achieve their driving goals, gain their independence and enjoy the freedom that passing their test brings.

I currently live in Bracknell, Berkshire where I was born and grew up. I have been happily married for 15yrs to my wonderful wife and have 4 amazing grown up children.

My main passion aside my family, is F1, I've never missed a Grand Prix.

I believe learning to drive is about much more than passing a test. It’s about building confidence, developing good driving habits and giving every pupil the skills they need to feel comfortable and safe on the road.

My approach is friendly, patient and personal. I understand that everyone learns differently, whether you’re a complete beginner, feeling nervous behind the wheel or looking to brush up on your driving skills. I aim to make every lesson a positive experience, helping you progress at your own pace and celebrate every achievement along the way.

At Stellar Drive, my goal is to make your driving journey enjoyable, rewarding and successful. I want you to feel supported from your very first lesson right through to the moment you pass your test and beyond.

Your journey, your confidence, your independence — let’s make it happen together with Stellar Drive!
